Talking Story, Systems, and Light with Elation
Recently, the work happening at Hale Centre Theatre was featured in an article by Elation Lighting discussing the recent lighting system upgrades and creative direction of our spaces.
What’s been especially surreal is seeing that article continue to spread through the industry, including features on Live Design Online and PLSN.
As designers, we spend so much time inside the process that it’s easy to forget to step back and recognize how special some of these projects really are. Getting the opportunity to help shape the visual language of spaces like Centre Stage and the new Beehive has been incredibly rewarding, especially alongside teams that care deeply about storytelling, collaboration, and innovation.
The article talks a bit about the fixture choices and system integration, but for me the most meaningful part is seeing Hale recognized as a place willing to push creatively and invest in tools that support immersive theatrical experiences.
None of this work happens alone.
Huge credit goes to the teams at Hale, Barbizon, Elation, our programmers, electricians, video teams, production staff, and the many artists who continue helping these spaces evolve.
Very grateful for the recognition and excited for what’s next.
